Skinwalker Ranch - Is that a rocket in your wormhole or are you just happy to see me?
Updated: Jan 2
I resisted as long as I could, but that gal-durned Skinwalker Ranch has taken hold and now I must watch it til its conclusion. History Channel has become a black hole for people like me. We get sucked in to the weirdness and it won't let us go.

If you're reading this, it's a safe bet that you have an interest in the subject already so I'll skip the intros and explanations (Bet you wish the show did too!) and just jump right into it. I binged the first 5 seasons in about a week and a half, so most of it is fresh in my mind, like a Dire Wolf turd left drying on the Spectrum Analyzer. But if you've no idea what Skinwalker Ranch is, read all about it on Wikipedia but in short, lots of weird shit happens there. Like my shitty meme? I worked really hard on that for like 20 minutes.
Let me preface this by saying I watch the show because it's entertaining. Do I believe it? Not really, but I'm open to suspending disbelief in the same way I can suspend my disbelief whenever Oak Island comes on. In other words, whether it's "real" or not doesn't matter to me, I'm just interested in the entertainment. I'll also confess that I'm not all that into cryptids and aliens, it doesn't float my boat, so I know almost nothing about either subject.
With the preamble out of the way, here's a few observations:
The "experiments" - Rockets, Drones, LIDAR, etc - Every episode spends the majority of time doing these same few experiments and the only results they get is "Equipment failure! That was weird, let's do it again!" and it's the Skinwalker equivalent of Oak Island's "This borehole didn't yield anything, let's dig another" I'm not sure these methods are going to give the answers they're looking for, I think perhaps they should try something different. Personally, I've love to see them build a giant Faraday cage and try dropping it on the anomaly, see what happens. No, it's not practical but none of their experiments are!
The silo/shed they set up to shield from radiation/EMF spikes - does that actually work? Is there a floor in it? What about the small ventilation openings? Would that shield them like they think? I mean, I'm sure there's some protection from the roof but...I dunno, is that adequate for what they claim?
Why did the Myers family, who reportedly had strange events happen, stay for 60 years? A little sleuthing shows Kenneth died in 1987 and Edith died in 1994 which was when the ranch was sold. I wonder if she lived there until her death? Either way, if the reports of activity are true, why would they stay? The Shermans only lasted 2 years before selling to Bigelow.
Surely by now there are ways to 'crack' the 1.6 and 1.2 signals, have any of the computer geeks on the ranch given it a shot? If they send the right answer, they can take the helicopter for an interdimentional ride!
No, I don't expect answers to these questions, I just enjoy thinking about it, gives me something to do.
